Your Goals Become Our Goals

Eliminate your pain, correct muscle imbalances and deficiencies, and reach full recovery.

Informed Physical Therapy Treatment

One of the most important things about your physical therapy treatment is understanding the true cause of painful symptoms. When you understand what helps and hinders your progress, you can be proactive in your rehabilitation. Concerned about lifting weights while you are hurt? Not sure if you will ever play competitive sports again? Anxious that your running days are over? We can help.

Types of Physical Therapy Treatments

We use a variety of physical therapy techniques so you can quickly return to a high level of performance. We want you to keep moving while we work together, and we’ll create a physical therapy plan that includes movements to enhance your progress. We don’t want our clients to be in a state of constant treatment. If you don’t see positive changes, we’ll help you find an alternative resource.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment that is often coupled with manual therapy and exercise. Dry needling aids the healing process by utilizing the placement of tiny monofilament needles into soft tissue to decrease pain and tightness. The goal is to release trigger points, taut bands of muscles, to relieve pain and increase movement. We continually reassess to ensure treatments are effective and efficient.

Manual Therapy

To administer manual therapy, we use our hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints to decrease pain and increase movement. Committed to offering the best physical therapy, owner Bill Meritt was awarded Fellow status with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, a designation held by only two dozen of the greater than 7000 physical therapists licensed in North Carolina.

Exercise

The in-session treatments are complemented and enhanced by specific exercises that promote healing and help you gain mobility and strength. We assess your body to find limitations and weaknesses that might be contributing to your injury or pain. We correct movement patterns and add functional rehabilitation exercises so you are training for the activities that are important to you. Performance movements are added so you can return to your activity better than before.

“Bill is the best sports physical therapist I know. He has incredible understanding of the athlete and how the athlete’s body performs. Bill not only alleviates your current pain or injury, but also to get to the underlying cause, allowing you to resume your sport and activity quickly without having the same issue occur again.” — JD Bruce, PT and certified running coach
